Winter Wedding Venues

Calgary has some amazing venues for all seasons, and here is our list for the best winter wedding venues in Calgary.

What makes a good winter wedding venue you ask? Our criteria is a venue that has a great ceremony space indoors, feels warm and cozy, has the option of staying in one place for the ceremony and reception, serves up some amazing comfort food, and if it has a fireplace, that’s a bonus!
Our list is in no particular order.

The Lake House

The Lake House is one of our favourite venues, and we are not alone, so make sure if you are interested you book early. The good thing is winter weddings tend to be a little less competitive for the dates.

We love the Lake house for the winter because with the antler chandeliers, the fire place and the picturesque hockey pond games being played endlessly outside, it makes the most beautiful setting.  We also like this setting because you can stay here for your full event, although it can get a little tight during the room flip. Your guests can cuddle up together, drink some amazing cocktails and stay warm. The Lake House team is amazing and flip the room very quickly.

Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant

The Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant is one of my favourite all time venues. We love the staff, the food, the park, the setting. This little gem has that intimate feel, it also has many indoor and outdoor options for photos. You can have your entire day here with no need to travel. Q Haute

Q Haute is another favourite. The food isn’t comfort food, but elegant french fine dining. The dining experience here will not be forgotten and it might be the most memorable wedding dinner in Calgary. They have a room with a large fire place for the ceremony, and the space is perfect for smaller weddings. Check out this blog post for a Calgary Winter wedding at Q Haute.

Azuridge

Azuridge is outside of Calgary, but it’s not far, so we have included it in our list of the Best Winter Wedding Venues in Calgary.
This Luxury Estate Hotel is one of the finest wedding venues Calgary has to offer, and if we are getting technical, it is one of the finest venues that Priddis has to offer.

This venue is an experience for your guests. It is located in a remote area, and you will have total privacy. You have the option to rent the full Estate and you will have all the staff on hand making sure that you and your guests are being taken care of. This includes your own butler, wedding coordinator, and white glove team serving food.

The setting is incredible, but in my opinion it is the perfect winter wedding venue. They have everything on the list, from fireplaces, warm and cozy rooms, incredible views, a stunning indoor ceremony location, great locations for photos. We love this place.

Laugheed House

The Laugheed House is a small historical property for rent in Downtown Calgary. It has an old, classic, timeless feel. After dinner everyone can dance the night away. The food at this venue is really amazing and is provided by ‘The Restaurant’ .

We love this space because it has a beautiful indoor ceremony space, a secondary area for cocktails and a third space for dancing. It has a great flow with all these rooms.

The Fairmont Palliser Hotel

The Palliser Hotel is such an iconic destination in Calgary for a wedding. It is a perfect location for a winter wedding because it has a warm, elegant, charming style. The Palliser has a number of rooms, from the Crystal Ball Room, to the Alberta Room.
The Palliser has a great staff, great food, and is the perfect place to have a ceremony and reception.

Baker Creek Chalets

We will wet your appetite for Mountain winter weddings with this beautiful mountain venue is a two hour drive from Calgary. We selected it because like Azuridge Estate Hotel, it is an experience. A selection of guests can rent out little cabins and spend a full weekend with you. In this area you can ski, snow show, and ice skate right outside the front door of the Chalet. We have also had a bride and groom rent out Lake Louise ski Chalet for the ceremony, but as always for winter weddings we prefer less travel.
