Engagement Photography Mish Mash

2026-09-17

This past winter Nathan and I did the unthinkable and we took a few months mostly off. After nearly 10 years of running our business, we decided to recharge over the winter.

Before photography, many moons ago, I gave up my first love – painting. At the time I wanted to fully commit to becoming the best film photographer ever, and then the best digital photographer. It has been a long and incredible journey, and one that took every second of the day and night for a decade.

The past few years I have started to feel the pull back to painting, so part of our time off was just me having some months learning to paint. Although I still have a long way to go, I am so grateful that I could have some dedicated time (and a beautiful husband who set up an art studio and spends countless hours with me as a pursue this new hobby).

While I make art Nathan became addicted to meth. Just kidding — although meth is never funny. No, instead he became addicted to riding his trainer with Zwift. It’s a mix between virtual reality, video games and riding a bike indoors.

With all this time off we didn’t do a lot of blogging of our engagement photography sessions that occurred in the fall or winter. So instead of posting it all, I’m posting a mish mash.

Enjoy!!!
