Our first wedding of 2018 was a Calgary Lake House winter wedding: it also happened to be completely amazing. We fell in love with Marsha and AJ right away when we met them. This is because they are equal parts hilarious and super cool.
AJ described Marsha as indomitable during the ceremony. After thinking about this a few times since the wedding, I’ve decided it’s the most beautiful way to describe her. Loving her for her fierce, spicy, confident spirit. Marsha is indomitable. And they are both sharp, independent, kind, and witty people.
We started the day at Hotel Arts, where both bride and groom got ready. We walked over to Central Memorial Park for some wedding portraits. And then left to the Lake House for more photos and the wedding ceremony and reception.
The wedding ceremony took place just after sunset and it was amazing. The light was warm and intimate, perfect for a winter wedding. The Lake House is one of the best spots for a winter wedding, with a big roaring fireplace, overlooking a frozen Lake Bonavista, and a never ending game of pond hockey.
The wedding was a blast, it was filled with hilarious moments, the best first dance I have ever seen, poignant speeches and delicious chocolates from Epiphanie Chocolates (our favourite local chocolatier).
We had an amazing time capturing this wedding and thank you so much having us as your wedding photographers for your Lake House winter wedding, yay!!!
