Here is the thing I love about this wedding, photographically that is… I love that is is such an interesting mix of classic and contemporary. George loves classic, photojournalistic shots, and Chalida loves funky, interesting photography with a lot of contrast. So we mixed it all together.
So let’s talk other than the photography here. The wedding was a day of summer storms, and it stopped raining just as Chalida and George signed the papers that made it all official. Everything was so unique and it was an amazing DIY wedding to inspire. The food and cake was homemade by hard working family members (and a wicked Thai curry that stopped me in my tracks). So many of the little details were done by Chalida, and I am guessing a gang of supportive friends and family members. I put a bunch of details shots so you can see some of her great ideas. The other highlights of the wedding day:
A really cool traditional Thai ceremony where the bride hides behind a gate (a sheet in this case) and the groom must bribe his way to her before being allowed to see her. Chalida’s dad almost brought the whole house to tears with a beyond eloquent and moving speech. George’s dad told hilarious stories of George’s childhood. A surprise music video made by George had the whole wedding on the floor laughing… it is sad I can’t show you how awesome it was, and a visit from the fire department (see some real-life firemen below). Great night guys! Thank you so much for having us there on your perfect wedding day
