I primarily use natural light (the sun, moon, and stars,).  I like the way natural, existing, light brings out a true life feeling to pictures;  however with my lovebird and partner photographer for francesfoto, Nathan, being a lighting wiz, we decided to add in some dramatic lighting for a recent engagement session. When I first started out artificial light seemed a bit scary. With natural light I could easily see beauty in the real world and capture it with a click of a button; artificial light takes some different skills. I feel like you need more than a good eye, you need to be able to imagine and then work with what you get.

For brides out there trying to decide on a photographer… having one who can rock out artificial lighting and natural light is probably ideal, and I would say essential for a winter wedding which may result in indoor pics or low light conditions.  It is a good idea to ask for an example of a wedding that was rained  out, indoor and outdoor shots.
